Gavarnie
You will be spending the night in Gavarnie in grandiose mountain scenery. Backing on to the Ordesa Mont Perdu National Park and the famous Anisclo canyons in Spain, the mighty Cirque de Gavarnie as well as its sister cirques of Estaube and Troumouse, are places that just have to be seen. Together they form the UNESCO World Heritage site. Gavarnie is one of the most famous natural arenas in the world, a true colossus of nature.
Also to see in Gavarnie : take a donkey ride from the village to the cafe just beneath the cirque, admire the highest waterfall in Europe, the Gavarnie festival takes place on the Courade plateau each year, fabulous walking around the cirque, a famous ice climbing destination in winter.
